A little Thailand at the Baltic Sea...
Sandy beaches, bizarre chalk formations and the Baltic Sea's typical spa architecture define the characteristic appearance of Germany's largest island. Rügen is at once glamorous and romantic. The Grand Hotel Binz, situated immediately at one of the long white sandy beaches, looks out at the sea across the beech woods of the Granitz. The exclusive 5 star house was built in 1998 in the style of a typical Baltic Sea bath: a four storey building with white walls, balconies and triangular gables reminiscent of the Renaissance, Classicism and Italian villas.
The hotel entrance hall with its far Eastern elements generates curiosity. The guests experience a Thai-Bali spa, which was designed from the plans of a Thai architect using original materials. The Grand Hotel Binz also offers classic wellness treatments and medical wellness.
Rügen is one of the locations in Germany with the greatest number of sunny hours each year. These can be spent at the beach, or exploring along the boardwalk into the bath town of Binz: on foot or cycling.
The Thai-Bali spa, with its original Thai features, was built using the architect Chantaka Puranananda’s drafts, who is a godson of King Rama IX. Behind the temple doors guests are welcomed by a fusion of Asian and European wellness elements. Surrounded by a special atmosphere, visitors can enjoy traditional Thai massages or ayurvedic treatments like Pantai Luar.
Various opportunities for trips and leisure time: e.g. guided hiking tours, biking along the island, trips to neighbouring islands of Hiddensee and Vilm, “Störtebeker-Festival” (It recalls the life of Klaus Störtebeker, a famous Rügen pirate, also called Robin Hood of the Seas, who was executed in 1401 at Hamburg.)
